Happy New Year, kids. And here we are with the very first column of the new year. The pressure, man… the goddamn pressure! So, back last year we had the DREAM: Dynamite!! 2010 card that had about thirty-eight fights. Holy shit, just thinking about it makes me want to take a nap. Granted, most things make me want to take a nap and it may also be the fact that the card started at like 1am and was almost three days long. Luckily, the place I was staying in Vegas had Direct TV and HDNet so, I didn’t have to watch it hunched over a laptop for three days. I didn’t make it through the whole card in one sitting but I did make it to daybreak and I didn’t have to kill anything for food or drink my own urine but it did test my dedication to MMA. As a new feature on MMAGospel.com, we are asking fighters and MMA personalities to answer a specific question or set of questions, and then presenting their gut-busting responses to our readers. The first subject? Nuts. Or more specifically, oh-so-painful (but hilarious) groin shots.

In this premiere installment, the premise is that our guest contributors are commentating on a fight and the following fighters have just been tagged with an unfortunate kick or knee to the groin that provides ample opportunity to make a snarky comment at the expense of a man’s poor junk.  Here’s how they would describe the following fighters being on the receiving end of crotch carnage… Continue reading »

So… Have you guys been watching this season of The Ultimate Fighter? Some of you know where I’m going with this. Okay, all of you know where I’m going with this. It’s become somewhat of a TUF tradition for pranks to be pulled. Normally, these pranks are by the fighters who are cooped up in the house and need to stay entertained and let off some steam. But sometimes the coaches get involved in the pranking shenanigans. “Rampage” Quinton Jackson pulled a few pranks on Rashad Evans when they were rival coaches on Season 10: Heavyweights of TUF. Rampage put some live chickens in Rashad’s car, had a less-than-flattering painting of Team Rashad commissioned, you know, pranks. Continue reading »

"The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz and "The Voice" Michael Schiavello

“The Voice Vs Tito Ortiz” is the third installment of the series hosted by “The Voice” Michael Schiavello which airs Friday on HDNet.  The first episode of “The Voice Vs” featured UFC color commentator and stand up comedian Joe Rogan. The episode reached legendary proportions when these two men got together for the first time on television. It worked so well that HDNet ordered more shows which led to the second episode featuring the always colorful Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Strikeforce fighter, stand up comedian and color commentator.  Now we are graced with the third installment starring “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz who is never short on words and often controversial.  The gettin’ is good as Michael once again works magic going one on one with some of the most notable people in the world of mixed martial arts.

The Voice Vs. Mayhem Miller on HDNet

HDNet hit a homerun with mixed martial arts (MMA) fans when they premiered “The Voice Vs” featuring Michael “The Voice” Schiavello in a sit down with comedian and  UFC color commentator and Joe Rogan.  A network would be a fool not to listen to the fans and so “The Voice VS.” will continue with part two featuring Schiavello with Jason “Mayhem” Miller.
