The familiar grounds of the MGM Grand Garden Arena will host the second clash of UFC middleweight titans “The Spider” Anderson Silva (31-4) and Chael Sonnen (27-11-1) as they fight for the UFC Middleweight Championship this Saturday. UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II will also see a host of other top talents meet as rising contenders “The Pride of El Salvador” Ivan Menjivar (24-8) and “The Hulk” Mike Easton (12-1) open the card, followed by a 145lbs. tilt featuring “Money” Chad Mendes (11-1) and “AK Kid” Cody McKenzie (13-2), and a welterweight meeting between Demian Maia (15-4) and “Stun Gun” Dong Hyun Kim (15-1-1). Playing co-main event for the whole affair is a rematch between the first Ultimate Fighter Forrest Griffin (18-7) and the UFC’s first light heavyweight king “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz (16-10-1). Anchoring the card is a striking match between former IKF Sanshou World Light Heavyweight Champion and former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Cung Le (7-2) and Canadian southpaw “The Predator” Patrick Cote (17-7).
