June 10 has come and gone and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada has experienced its first professional MMA card which also served as the inaugural MMA event for The Score Fighting Series. The evening was comprised of the full gamut of fighters, with varying skill levels and a multitude of skills sets. All but two of the event’s ten fights made it to the judges’ score cards, and though to some this may imply that the event was filled with uneventful fights, that assumption could not be further from the truth. The day has arrived! Tonight the UFC barrels into Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to rock fans with UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin. Starring in the main event are heavy-hitting behemoth knockout artists “Cigano” Junior Dos Santos (12-1) and former top contender “The Engineer” Shane Carwin (11-1), supported by submission specialist “Ken-Flo” Kenny Florian (13-5) making his featherweight debut against “The Gun” Diego Nunes (15-3), a heavyweight clash between UFC newcomers Jon Olav Einemo (6-1) and “Pee Wee” Dave Herman (18-2), a battle in the 185lbs. division between tacticians Demian Maia (13-2) and “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Mark Munoz (8-2), and WEC transplant “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone (13-4) taking on BJJ champion Vagner Rocha (5-1).
