This afternoon UFC President Dana White put the speculation of a potential inter-promotion superfight between UFC Welterweight Champion “Rush” Georges St. Pierre (22-2) and Strikeforce Welterweight Champion “Diablo” Nick Diaz (24-8) to rest via his Twitter: “U wanted it! U GOT IT!!! GSP vs DIAZ Oct 29th UFC 137 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (sic)”, White announced to his nearly 1.5 million followers on the social networking site. Continue reading »

MMA Gospel Technique of the Week: D’arce Choke from Modified Syracuse Escape

Last week, MMA Gospel explored a modified Syracuse Escape to get from side control to the sprawl position with head and arm control. The escape is a crafty one, but an escape or sweep is only as good as the finishing position it sets up. With that in mind, MMA Gospel went to Ed Perdomo and Trevor Boers to finish the escape with a fight-ending submission hold.
