  1. shield is the no. 1 champion!!!

  2. One thing that’s for sure – the main event was much more competitive than most were expecting! I personally “was not impressed by GSP’s performance” (yeah, I know that joke is played out). I’m also somewhat surprised that it stayed standing as much as it did, and that, come the end of the fight, GSP looked a lot more beat up than Shields. I am not a huge fan of either St. Pierre or Shields, but for once, I was pulling for Jake. Despite the fact that he won I think people are seeing more and more that St. Pierre is NOT unbeatable, which is only made more evident when he fights so “safely”.

Overall, UFC 129 was a great card.

I expected Aldo vs. Hominick to be a battle and it certainly delivered. REMATCH, PLEASE!

Vlady knocking out Brilz in 20 seconds – who saw that coming??

Machida’s flying front kick was certainly impressive, but I can’t help but hold it against him that it was the fight-ending blow in Couture’s (alleged) last MMA fight. Couture will always be a legend and pioneer of this sport, and it’s extremely sad to see him go.

Bocek vs. Henderson was a hell of a way to kick off the main card. Mark is relentless, but Henderson just had a little more last night. Another action packed bout that I wouldn’t mind seeing again!
