Top-ranked WMMA fighter “The Happy Warrior” Roxanne Modafferi (14-5), originally from Delaware but currently an established resident of Tokyo, Japan, experienced the island nation’s devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake yesterday first hand. In Japan the quake struck at approximately 2:46pm JST on Friday (approximately 10:46pm Thursday for the Eastern Coast of the United States) and was reportedly proceeded by up to 15 aftershocks in the subsequent hours. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), most of the aftershocks ranged from the mid-5′s to 7.1 in magnitude. Various reports claim the earthquake to be among the top ranks in the strongest quakes ever recorded.
