MMA Gospel Radio this week featured the usual candid insider’s look on MMA along with a trivia contest for free gear from MMA Gospel’s sponsor One5 Fightwear. The show’s featured guest this week was undefeated 19-year-old female amateur MMA fighter Taylor Stratford.  The young Reno, Nevada-based Stratford shared her thoughts on training, fighting, and how she got into the sport as well. Also making an appearance was Tapout Radio’s resident female MMA authority Crooklyn, who shared her views on MMA and the current state of affairs in Strikeforce, the WEC/UFC merger, and her picks for the MMA Awards tonight. Up first was Reno Academy of Combat’s female stand out Taylor Stratford. She discussed how she got into combat sports as well as her training habits. “My dad was a boxer and the want to fight from him just always built up inside me. My mom always told me no but I wanted it, so when I turned 18 I started,” she said.

She also went on to say that while she doesn’t stay up on MMA news, she does follow a few fighters’ careers, in particular “Cyborg” Cris Santos (10-1) and “Showtime” Anthony Pettis (12-1).

Next up was Dan Griffin, CEO of MMA Gospel, with a trio of trivia questions to give listeners a chance at free gear from One5 Fightwear. The first two questions “What two fighters were involved in ‘The Kiss of Death’ incident and when did it occur?’ and “Who was Forrest Griffin’s first professional loss, how did he lose, and how much did he make?’ both were answered in short order. However the question of “Who submitted Charles Taylor with a Flying Armbar in 5 seconds?” remains unanswered.

Last up was Tapout Radio’s Crooklyn who discussed her picks for the MMA Awards this evening, who some of her favorite people in the MMA world are, and the promotional woes of the Strikeforce promotion.

All this and much more can be heard here.
